Following is a copy of comments I made at wsj.com (Wall Street Journal Online), regarding an article on 1/29/15, about Dartmouth College's plans to eliminate hard alcohol on campus, educate students about "predatory sexual behavior," and increase "inclusivity," a word I cannot find in my dictionary.
Progressive liberalism reigns supreme on college campuses, including my alma mater, Dartmouth College. All campuses must conform with federal regulations and guidelines promulgated by the Obama White House (he of the sealed transcripts!), and implemented by that great protector of the U.S. Constitution and civil rights, Eric Holder (who helped close-down the Columbia University campus as a student "protestor" during the 1970s)
Get rid of alcohol? I biked across the Connecticut River to buy alcohol in 1979. Eliminate sexual assault? How about admitting freshman mature enough to handle four years of freedom on a beautiful campus in an idyllic town in New Hampshire? Encourage diversity and tolerance? How about teaching students to recognize the mortal threat of terrorism, which threatens our freedom, not just our feelings?
This is not "Vox Clamantis in Deserto." This is progressive liberalism, flexing its coercive muscle.William L. Robbins, '83
