Convergent Management, Inc. operates much like a small family office, but without the private planes, yachts and multiple residences that can make managing real wealth such a bother. Bill Robbins, who runs the show, operates his consulting business, manages the business side of a pediatric dentistry specialty practice, oversees investment portfolios and trusts, keeps a residential property in tip-top shape, and, together with his wife, is responsible for the welfare of two little dogs that expect a decent inheritance.
Bill has more than 35 years of experience in the corporate world, lifescience-based and advanced materials-based start-ups, seed-stage investing and executive and operational management. Bill also has some unusual experience in the outdoor products industry, including cycling, snowsports, and contact sports. Bill is a published author, having written two books based on his experience as a seed-stage investor, serial founder of research-based start-up companies, and as a start-up CEO, corporate and non-profit board member and advisor.
In addition to running businesses and managing family affairs, Bill shares his professional knowledge, expertise and advice with people who appreciate thoughtful, honest input. This includes editing and proofreading publication manuscripts for colleagues, friends, and acquaintances who seek a literary eye for scientific and technical subjects.
